Driven by inspiration, transformation, and a passion for real change that’s who I am today, but it wasn’t always this way

For 25 years, I led transformation and technology teams in financial services. On the outside, I looked the part. On the inside, I wore a mask of who I thought I was supposed to be. From how I expressed myself to how I carried myself, I tried to fit a mould of leadership that never truly felt like mine. My expertise was solid, but my full impact didn’t always land.

After my second child, I realised presence was more than appearance. It was a way to reconnect with myself amidst the demands of work and life. That insight began a pattern I’ve lived many times, climbing, plateauing, recalibrating, and rising again. The mismatch between the leader I was and the presence I projected became the catalyst for my work today.

Here’s what I’ve learned, success alone isn’t enough. Influence comes when expertise and presence align. If how you’re experienced on the outside doesn’t match who you are on the inside, there’s misalignment — and it begins with the internal clarity most of us think we have, but don’t.
